“The Block” – Teaser Trailer for Supernatural Thriller Unveils Jackie Earle Haley and Catherine Corcoran in Psychological Descent

he shadows are creeping in, and the words are pouring out. The teaser trailer for The Block, an upcoming supernatural thriller starring Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), has officially dropped — and it’s as eerie as it is intriguing.

Directed by Emmy nominee Craig Singer (6:45), The Block explores the darkest corners of artistic obsession and creative sacrifice. The film follows Mitch James, portrayed by Jack Falahee (How to Get Away with Murder), a once-revered horror novelist crippled by a years-long writer’s block — until a mysterious, disturbing encounter reignites his inspiration… at a terrifying cost.

“What if your next great idea didn’t come from you at all—but something watching you from the dark?” the trailer teases.

The teaser features unsettling imagery: typewritten pages appearing on their own, whispering voices in an empty house, and a shadowy figure watching Mitch as he writes feverishly through the night. Haley plays a cryptic neighbor with a sinister knowledge of “the block,” while Corcoran’s role is shrouded in mystery but hinted to be “deeply connected to Mitch’s unraveling.”

The cast also includes:

  • Chris Noth (The Equalizer) as Mitch’s aging editor

  • Saphira Moran as a rising horror YouTuber investigating Mitch’s comeback

  • Elias Koteas, Thomas G. Waites, Armen Garo, and Gabrielle Lee

Written by Robert Dean Klein (Dark Ride), The Block is a haunting look at the price of creativity and the demons artists feed — sometimes literally.

“It’s about obsession, the cost of expression, and the idea that inspiration may have a will of its own,” says director Craig Singer. “This is my most personal film yet.”

Produced by Three 777 Film, Inc. and Cascrator Films, The Block is slated for a limited theatrical and digital release in Fall 2025.

Stay tuned for the full trailer later this summer.
