Liverpool Set to Make Huge Bid for Julian Alvarez in Blockbuster Transfer Move

The Premier League could witness a major transfer shock as Liverpool officially enters the race to sign Julian Alvarez.

According to journalist Sam McGuire, the Merseyside club is prepared to offer over €100 million to persuade Atletico Madrid to part ways with the Argentine forward. However, Alvarez’s release clause is set at €150 million, making negotiations challenging. Given his sensational form in both La Liga and the Champions League, the 25-year-old striker has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Alvarez is no coincidence. The club is undergoing a major squad overhaul, with key attacking players possibly on their way out. Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota have been linked with exits, while Mohamed Salah’s future remains uncertain.

Reports from England suggest that Liverpool is not merely monitoring Alvarez; a delegation led by Sporting Director Richard Hughes has already traveled to Madrid to meet with the player’s representatives. This move signals Liverpool’s serious intent to bring the former Manchester City star to Anfield.

Last summer, Atletico Madrid raised eyebrows by spending €80 million to sign Alvarez from Manchester City. However, that investment has proven worthwhile.

Although Alvarez had a slow start at Wanda Metropolitano, he has exploded in form towards the latter half of the season. With seven goals and one assist in just 10 Champions League matches, he has established himself as one of Europe’s most dangerous strikers.

He was the standout player in Atletico’s Round of 16 tie against Real Madrid, scoring a stunning goal at the Santiago Bernabeu. Despite missing a crucial penalty in the shootout, his performances have caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool is also considering alternative attacking reinforcements, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko on their radar. Isak’s valuation could soar past €200 million if Newcastle qualifies for next season’s Champions League.

After being eliminated by PSG in the Champions League Round of 16, Liverpool is determined to strengthen its squad to compete at the highest level in Europe. Bringing in top-tier players like Alvarez could make them an even more formidable force next season.

With Premier League giants circling and Liverpool preparing a massive bid, Atletico Madrid faces a tough decision. Can they hold on to their star forward, or will Alvarez make a blockbuster return to England?
