General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, December 26, reveal that the drama’s about to heat up in Port Charles, but we’ve got a quick programming note to pass along first. The ABC soap will be preempted for sports coverage on Monday, December 25, but they’ll be back with a brand-new episode once Tuesday rolls around.

For starters, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) will tell Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) that maybe Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) has a heart after all.

Although Spencer has been dealing with some suspicions about Esme’s strange behavior, he’ll consider the idea that perhaps she’s just feeling generous with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and embracing the holiday spirit.

While Trina and Spencer celebrate Christmas Eve together, Esme will have an emotional meltdown over everything that’s been flooding back.

Esme returned to Wyndemere and was able to shake some very criminal memories loose, so she’ll start to panic over what this means.

“You only care about her!” Esme declares through tears on Tuesday’s GH preview video.

Perhaps she’ll be referring to the new-and-improved Esme, who’s managed to win over people like Laura Collins (Genie Francis).

On the other hand, Esme might feel like Spencer only cares about Trina and that he’ll feed Ace’s mom to the wolves if given the chance.

Either way, Esme may worry about her fate if anyone realizes she now remembers the worst parts of herself.

As for Ava Jerome (Maura West), it looks like she’ll get a security alert and head over to Wyndemere to check things out.

Ava may bring the gun that was left in her drawer since Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will also show up and wonder if she’s looking for an intruder to shoot.

Laura and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will also go on the hunt for answers, so they’ll both worry about Ava and the security alert.

It appears Sonny may reassure Ava about something that isn’t going to happen, so he may promise not to let Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) or anyone else hurt her.

As for Laura, she’ll insist on coming with Dante as he investigates the property.

Esme will face a close call, but it seems she’ll manage to get away without getting busted.

Meanwhile, Nina just stepped into the confessional and is preparing to unburden herself.

What Nina doesn’t realize is that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has slipped in the priest’s spot and will be listening.

Of course, Cyrus already overheard Nina and Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) conversation about Nina being the SEC informant, but he can gather even more info once he hears Nina open up about her guilt.

At some point, Cyrus will play nice in front of the priest and pretend he’s there because of someone he cares about.

The priest will insist Cyrus’ friend is lucky to have someone looking out for them.

At GH, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will think she knows what someone else is going to say.

Maybe Carly will talk to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) about Nina and end up surprised at the level of vitriol he still has for her.

Then again, maybe Carly will take some jabs about Nina in Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) presence instead.

Carly might suggest she knows she needs to be trying harder to accept Nina and move on from the past.

Whatever the case, General Hospital spoilers say Nina’s SEC snitching is going to blow up in her face in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned for updates on how and when that news will spread.
