Rafa Nadal has hinted at a possible future career move as Real Madrid president as the Grand Slam tennis star toyed with a possible role at the iconic football club.
The 37-year-old has been a life-long supporter of Madrid and revealed he would jump at the opportunity to become the club’s president in the future.
Florentino Perez has occupied the position as Real Madrid president for the past 14-years after returning for a second stint at the LaLiga giants, with Nadal praising him as the ‘best’.
However, despite overseeing a period of sustained silverware at the club, the 76-year-old will eventually retire from his position, and Nadal could be a popular replacement.
Outlining his ambition in an interview with Movistar Plus+, Nadal stated: ‘I don’t know [if I would join Madrid].

Perez has been in the role as Real Madrid president since taking the job for a second time in 2009
‘I promise that it’s not always been a dream of mine. But if you ask me if I’d like to be Real Madrid president, I think I would.
‘But first of all, we’ve got the best possible president at the moment. On top of that, how I feel today might not be how I feel tomorrow. And then you never know what can happen in life.
‘You have to know if you’re capable of doing that type of thing. I’m quite realistic with myself, I more or less know my limitations. I don’t know if I’d be capable of doing it or not. Anyway, time will tell’.
The presidency role would task Nadal with overseeing all major decisions at the club and representing the face of Real Madrid, however, he has become experienced in appearing in the media spotlight during his outstanding tennis career.
He would also be responsible for convincing superstar recruits to move to the Santiago Bernabeu and although not in the position yet, Nadal is determined to see PSG forward Kylian Mbappe join Madrid.

The Frenchman has been a long-term target for the 14-time European champions and is expected to make the switch to the Spanish capital next summer unless he agrees to extend his stay in Paris.
Mbappe was previously the subject of a £154million bid before he made the surprise decision to agree a new long-term contract at PSG, but Nadal believes the World Cup winner will eventually make his move.
‘Would another forward be welcome right now? I think so but…I want Mbappe to come, I don’t have any problem with that at all, quite the opposite. I’d be happy if he came! Of course I like Mbappe,
‘He didn’t have any obligation to come before. Real Madrid is Real Madrid and is bigger than any other player. But Mbappe doesn’t have any obligation to come when us fans want him to come,’ he said.
