Many Chelsea players have been linked to Real Madrid in previous years. If they were to make a future move for a right back, Reece James would likely be at or near the top of their wishlist. However, there have been whispers that Ian Maatsen is being considered as a replacement for Alphonso Davies.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, a defender for Chelsea, was one of the players Real Madrid signed this summer. After Thibaut Courtois went down with a season-ending ACL ιnjury, the club had to make a transfer that wasn’t in anyone’s initial thoughts.
Kepa, on loan from Chelsea for the season, has been named the team’s starting goalkeeper. And it’s no sеcrеt that the Spaniard wants to keep playing for Real Madrid after this season ends.
Once Courtois recovers, it’s unlikely that Kepa will once again be the starter. Whether or not Real Madrid makes a move is, therefore, uncertain. Chelsea appears to be okay with the idea of his leaving for good.
Chelsea is demanding €25 million from Real Madrid for the transfer of a player.
Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle) reports that Chelsea would be willing to sell Kepa for an estimated €20 million to €25 million. The player wants to make a permanent move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
It remаins to be seen if Real Madrid is willing to pay that type of money for a goalkeeper who, if Courtois returns, will likely serve as a backup. Kepa, who is now 28, is also no longer a promising young player.
As a result, Kepa’s future at Santiago Bernabeu appears bleak for the upcoming season. His success on loan will be crucial.
