Legendary American golfer Tiger Woods will not participate in his own Hero World Challenge tournament, held in the Bahamas.
Details: Woods announced he would skip the annual postseason tournament, which he organizes in Albany, scheduled for December 5-8. However, the golfer did not specify the reason for his absence. Despite not playing, Woods will attend the Hero World Challenge as the tournament host.
Quote: “I am disappointed that I won’t be competing in this year’s Hero World Challenge, but I always look forward to hosting the event and spending the week with the Hero Moto corporation,” Woods wrote on X.
In September, Woods underwent a microdiscectomy surgery to relieve a pinched nerve in his lower back.
Reminder: The Hero World Challenge is a golf tournament held annually in December, featuring a small field of 20 top golf professionals. The event supports the Tiger Woods Foundation and is part of the PGA Tour schedule, although it does not offer FedEx Cup points or official prize money as it is considered an unofficial event.
On a related note, Tiger Woods and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren recently came together to cheer for their son, Charlie Woods, during a golf event.
