Drake published two Instagram posts wearing Tupac Shakur’s ring less than 24 hours after the auction finished, confirming he was the unseen bidder.
Drake made an intriguing рᴜгϲҺаꜱe to mark the debut of his new song Meltdown (feat. Travis Scott).
A diamond ring that formerly belonged to rap pioneer Tupac Shakur was purchased by the 36-year-old artist.
The sale of the ring in issue was completed a few days ago by the auction house Sotheby’s.
The ring, which is made of gold and is embellished with diamonds and pink rubies, was worn by Tupac Shakur at his last public appearance.
The 1996 MTV Video Music Awards were held less than two weeks before his ԀеатҺ. He wore it there.
Although Sotheby’s withheld the buyer’s nаме, Drake released an Instagram story featuring the ring only hours after the sale.
Then, two days later, Drake posted the identical ring in yet another Instagram story.
Additionally, he was really wearing it this time.
Drake was interviewed on the same day for a Sidetalk NYC episode.
He said, “I’m sporting Pac’s ring.”
What did the Canadian rapper spend, then?
Due of the high value of everything Tupac-related, Sotheby’s set a pre-auction estimate of $300,000.
But the final sale price of the ring—$1,016,000—broke all expectations.
Even though paying seven figures for a ring is expensive, Drake can easily afford it because to his $250M net worth.
Drake is a little different when it comes to it than other rappers who flaunt their money.
Of course, the rapper from “Headlines” possesses a plane, pricey watches, and other things, but he focused most of his resources on… his home.
The rapper invested a substantial sum of money in the construction of his ideal home in his native Toronto.
Even stranger is the fact that Drake spent $400,000 (!) on a specially built mattress for his bed.
What a strange flex.
