Steven Gerrard has denied any interest in signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard took charge of the Saudi Pro League side last month and has already overseen the arrival of former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
Henderson called an end to his 12-year stint with the Reds after being offered a lucrative £700k-a-week deal from Gerrard’s side.
The England international joined former Lyon and Fulham striker Moussa Dembele in securing a move to Al-Ettifaq – and there were suggestions that more were expected.
Reports had claimed that there was growing interest in Liverpool and Egypt winger Salah but Gerrard has played down those suggestions.
Mohamed Salah has reportedly been a target for a number of Saudi Arabian sides this summer

According to SportBible, when asked about any interest in signing Salah, Gerrard told local media: ‘No. The answer is no.
‘Mohamed Salah is my favourite player. I love Liverpool Football Club, so Mohamed can stay where he is.
‘[He can join] when he wins more leagues and Champions Leagues with Liverpool, we’ll maybe consider it.’
Reports of interest in Salah from Saudi Arabia began to emerge on Sunday afternoon when Al Riyadh claimed another club, Al-Ittihad, were set to offer Salah £155million in wages over two seasons.
However, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa stated that Salah remains committed to Liverpool.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC.’
Salah has two years remaining on his current contract at Liverpool, which he signed last year.
Since joining from Roma in 2017 Salah has scored 186 goals in 305 games for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Salah has won an array of trophies during his time at Liverpool, including the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Henderson, another of Salah’s former team-mates, signed for Al-Ettifaq, while Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy and Allan Saint-Maximin are amongst the players to have joined Al-Ahli.
Al-Ittihad brought in Salah’s former Liverpool team-mate Fabinho, who joined for £40million.
They have also signed other high-profile players such as Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and N’Golo Kante from Chelsea.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr in January, a host of other players have headed to Saudi Arabia this summer.
