It is uncommon to have twins, and it is even rarer to have conjoined twins. It is estimated that this form of 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 occurs once every 50,000 to 60,000 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡s. Sandy and Jesse Fuller were stunned when they learned that their twins would be 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 conjoined.
Nonetheless, they had faith that things would work out in the end. In addition, they had a fantastic team of medical professionals who were willing to do whatever it took to assist these infant females. Due to the rarity of conjoined twins, an entire team prepared three months in advance of Sandy’s delivery. This seventeen-member team consisted of seven surgeons and four anesthesiologists.

Dr. Alice King, the operation’s head surgeon and a pediatric surgeon at Texas Children’s Hospital, stated, “Our team began planning and preparing for this operation before these infants were even 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧.” From simulations of the procedure to extensive collaboration with colleagues in anesthesiology, maternal-fetal medicine, neonatology, and radiology, we have all been working toward a common goal: the best possible outcome for Ella and Eliza.

Sandy stated, “When we discovered they were conjoined, it was a difficult and difficult time, but we had faith that God would work throughout the entire voyage, so it was fine.”
Ella and Eliza were joined at 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 at the abdomen, and they shared liver tissue. They were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in March, but were unable to undergo surgery until June. In the interim, they were cared for within the NICU.

When the day of their surgery finally arrived, they felt both anxious and relieved. Thankfully, the physicians’ preparations paid off, and within six hours these adorable sisters were separated!
Jesse Fuller stated, “It’s difficult to put into words how thrilled we are.” “After 134 days, the emotions are overwhelming.”
Mama and Dad were eventually able to separate their daughters three days after surgery. This indescribably precious moment was documented on film, and the pleasure they are experiencing is evident.

Sandy stated, “It was an overwhelming sensation of exhilaration.” “It was an emotion of gratitude, more so, because I was just so grateful that I could finally hold my on her back.”
Sandy and Jesse are not the only ones delighted by the twins’ return home. Their eldest daughter, Emi, is very much overjoyed to have “her babies” living under the same roof as her.
Jesse stated, “I anticipate another tumultuous moment when we return home, but we’re looking forward to it.” “I’m preparing myself because I know it’s about to get rowdy, but I’m thrilled nonetheless.”
