Ben Foster reveals ex-Man Utd player’s bizarre hobby during England duty kept him up ‘all night’

FORMER England keeper Ben Foster has revealed David Beckham used to stay up ALL NIGHT playing LEGO while away with England.

Foster, 40, made his Three Lions debut in 2007 – two years before Beckham’s final international cap.

And the current Wrexham shot-stopper has now discussed how the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid man passed the time while away with the country’s best stars.

Speaking on an episode of Fozcast – Foster’s podcast – he said: “He used to bring Lego sets to England.

“He would go into his room and just do Lego all night. It would proper chill him out.

“He would just sit there, do his Lego set, have a nice time. Lovely.”

Beckham, 48, who earned 115 caps for England, has shared pictures in the past of him working on Lego projects.

They included the Millennium Falcon, Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Hogwarts, and a Disney castle for his daughter, Harper Seven.

And he has gone on record talking about the origin of the interest.

He said: “I grew up making Lego when I was eight or nine years old.

“Actually, I continue it and Victoria always laughs at me.

“She’ll come down at like two o’clock in the morning and I’ll be trying to finish a piece off.

“She posted something the other day and I think she said because it was like 11 years and above, she was like: ‘Really? You are still up at two o’clock in the morning doing 11 years and above Lego?'”

Beckham’s final England cap came in 2009 – with the midfielder finishing on 17 goals and 42 assists.

Meanwhile, Foster made eight appearances for his country between 2007 and 2014.

The last of those came in a goalless draw with Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup after England had already been eliminated.

Nine years on, he is still playing and has extended his stay with Wrexham for one more season following their promotion to League Two.
