Vin Diesel has been sending out regular video updates from the set of Fast & Furious 9 on Instagram, but on Tuesday he revealed a surprising new cast member: Cardi B.

The 52 year old actor sent out a video on Instagram Tuesday afternoon, which he said was ‘Day 86 here on the set of Fast 9,’ while sitting next to the Hustlers actress.

Diesel revealed that this day on the set was their last day of filming in the U.K., with the actor adding in his caption, ‘Pa mi Gente (For my people) with the hashtags #Fast92020 #Fatherhood.

The 27 year old rapper (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) was wearing a black tactical jacket with black gloves while Diesel said he was tired because the cast and crew, ‘gave everything we could for this movie, put it all on the table.’

‘I’m tired, but I can’t wait. I think… I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one,’ Cardi said.

Diesel added that they’re all, ‘so blessed, the last day of filming in the U.K. all love, always,’ while Cardi added she’s going to take a ‘nappy nap.’

Cardi B didn’t post anything on her social media about her new film role, but when she appeared on Ellen earlier this month, she teased a new role.

The rapper was promoting her Netflix series Rhythm and Flow, where she serves as a judge with T.I. and Chance the Rapper, where she was complaining about the long hours involved in making a movie.

When Ellen said, ‘You’re not gonna do that again are you?’ Cardi responded, ‘Oh yes I am. I’m going to film for a movie this month,’ which has now been revealed as Fast & Furious 9.

As for who Cardi B will be playing in Fast & Furious 9, that has yet to be revealed, but her involvement was revealed just a day after Latin singer/actor Ozuna signed on for a role.

Other franchise newcomers confirmed for Fast & Furious 9 include Michael Rooker, John Cena, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai and Vinnie Bennett.

Diesel will be joined by franchise regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.

Justin Lin, who directed Fast & Furious 6, returns to direct from a script by Daniel Casey (Kin) and Chris Morgan, who has had a hand in writing most of the Fast & Furious movies since Tokyo Drift.

Universal has set a May 22, 2020 release date for Fast & Furious 9, with the final film in the franchise, Fast & Furious 10, slated to debut April 2, 2021.

This summer, Universal released the first spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, which earned $173.7 million domestic and $758.8 million worldwide from a $200 million budget, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

Release date: Universal has set a May 22, 2020 release date for Fast & Furious 9, with the final film in the franchise, Fast & Furious 10, slated to debut April 2, 2021
