Justin Rose claimed his 12th PGA Tour title after a strong showing at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Having trailed fellow Brit Tommy Fleetwood by just one stroke heading into the final round, Rose eventually set up a playoff battle with J.J. Spaun with both ending up at -16 on Sunday – while Fleetwood failed to clinch his maiden title again. The 45-year-old eventually beat Spaun after three sudden-death playoff holes.
Rose targeted his first tournament victory of 2025 at St. Jude after narrowly missing out on a Masters win earlier this year. The coveted green jacket was ultimately claimed by Rory McIlroy, who finally seized the prize that had long evaded him, becoming only the sixth man in history to bag the Masters, US PGA Championship, Open Championship, and US Open titles.
His victory came in a nail-bitingly dramatic fashion, with a tense final round at Augusta culminating in a sudden-death play-off.
McIlroy missed a par putt on the 18th hole to finish level with his Ryder Cup teammate Rose, but a birdie on the first extra hole saw the Northern Irishman emerge victorious.
While it was a letdown for Rose, he still pocketed a hefty $2.27 million for his second-place finish, adding to his substantial personal wealth accumulated from a 2013 US Open victory and 24 other professional tournament wins.
His flourishing career across both the PGA and European Tour has built up to a jaw-dropping estimated net worth of approximately $40 million, based on Celebrity Net Worth figures.

Rose splits his fortune with his spouse Kate, whom he wed in 2006. The pair had crossed paths six years prior when she was employed at IMG, the firm that represented the golfing ace at that time.
The duo are parents to two youngsters – Leo, who arrived in 2009, and Lottie, 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2012, and they also established the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation in 2009 to help disadvantaged 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren in Florida.
Kate previously competed as an international gymnast and held a position as board director for the PGA Tour Wives Association from 2006 to 2010.
Rose also disclosed the heartwarming gesture he makes for his wife of almost two decades during tournaments, explaining to Golf Monthly that he uses number 99 golf balls since nine is her lucky digit, with 99 “doubling the luck.”
Following her husband’s crushing loss to McIlroy at this year’s Masters, Kate became embroiled in an intriguing situation involving herself and the Northern Irish golfer.
After securing his triumph, McIlroy was captured in photographs embracing a woman during his victory celebration, igniting rumors about who this ‘mystery blonde’ could be.
Nevertheless, it quickly came to light that the woman was actually Kate, with the hug showcasing the tight bond between the two leading Augusta competitors. Rose revealed his sportsmanship with a gracious message to McIlroy following his own letdown at the tournament, posting on social media: “I gave it everything…. Congratulations @McIlroyRory on winning @TheMasters and completing the Grand Slam. Very cool sharing the green with you in that moment.
“Thank you Team Rose as always for all the support during the week. We go again.”
