Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly approved a massive transfer move as Al Nassr prepare an £85 million bid for Liverpool’s Colombian winger Luis Díaz, in what could become one of the most headline-grabbing transfers of the summer.
🟡⚪ The Saudi Pro League giants are ready to flex their financial muscle after tying down Ronaldo with the most lucrative deal in sports history – a jaw-dropping £492 million contract running until 2027. The new deal sees the 40-year-old icon earning £488,000 per day, totaling £178 million per year, alongside a signing bonus of up to £38 million and £4 million for winning the Golden Boot.
Moreover, Ronaldo now holds 15% ownership in Al Nassr, worth around £33 million, and benefits from royal-level lifestyle perks including:
-
🧑🍳 A personal staff of 16 full-time employees
-
✈️ A private jet provided by the club
-
🤝 Up to £60 million in local sponsorship deals
🏟️ But Ronaldo’s influence doesn’t stop off the pitch. As part of his elite contract, he has been granted authority over key club decisions, including coaching appointments and player signings.
🔁 According to Saudi outlet Okaz, Ronaldo has now personally endorsed the signing of Luis Díaz, pushing Al Nassr to act fast after a disappointing season that saw them miss out on AFC Champions League qualification.
Díaz, 28, had an excellent 2024/25 campaign with Liverpool, notching 17 goals and 8 assists in 50 appearances. However, with just two years left on his current deal — and no extension yet offered by Liverpool — his future at Anfield remains uncertain.
Adding to the speculation, Liverpool’s record-breaking £116M signing of Florian Wirtz may reduce Díaz’s role in the team. While Liverpool have publicly stated that Díaz is not for sale, the £85 million offer from Al Nassr could force them to reconsider, especially if it frees up funds to pursue top target Alexander Isak from Newcastle.
🗣️ A Liverpool source told local media, “We’re aware of interest, but the final decision will come down to what strengthens our long-term strategy.”
As the Middle East continues to draw world-class talent, Cristiano Ronaldo’s pull remains as powerful as ever — and Luis Díaz could be the next big name to join his ambitious project in Riyadh. 🌍⚽💣
