Keegan Bradley admitted that he looked at the CBS Sports ratings alongside final round pairing Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley at the Travelers Championship, and was “excited” after 3.5 million people watched Sunday’s coverage.

Bradley won a dramatic Travelers Championship after putting for birdie on the final hole, which denied a three-way playoff against Fleetwood and Henley. Fleetwood led most of the weekend but failed to secure his first PGA Tour victory after a brutal collapse in the final round.

Henley was also in the running, and a three-way race for the title meant that millions of viewers were hooked. CBS Sports announced that it was the second most-watched final round of the Travelers Championship in 22 years, and ratings were up 35 percent from 2024, when Scottie Scheffler beat Tom Kim to the title.

Bradley’s win came at a crucial time, as the Team USA captain is preparing for the Ryder Cup in September. Bradley has claimed that the PGA of America requested that he take on a player-captain role, which would make him the first American since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to juggle responsibilities.

The 39-year-old is now the World No. 7, which has silenced some critics ahead of his Ryder Cup selection. Bradley is now one of the favorites for the Rocket Classic in Detroit, but he’s still beaming from a dream Sunday at TPC River Highlands.

In an appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,’ Bradley revealed that “we” looked at the ratings, suggesting that Fleetwood and Henley may have also been interested. While there was a lot at stake, Bradley couldn’t help but feel proud of his upbringing in New England.

“To see the ratings, I’ve got to be honest with you, we looked,” Bradley told Pat McAfee. “Like I was excited, that’s nice! I’m proud to play in the PGA Tour, and I’m proud to have Travelers turn into such a monster deal.”

Bradley managed to keep his focus, but he was so locked in that he was left confused about the final hole. “It’s really incredible. There’s some things that happen in my life that’s hard to wrap my head around,” Bradley added.

“Being on that 18th hole, with the whole crowd rooting for me. One of the craziest things happened to me on that 18th hole that I’ve never experienced or seen.

“I hit my drive off the tee, and I’m going to put my club back in the bag and I hear this huge roar. I turned around like, ‘What is that?’ I realized it was just my ball hitting the fairway and I’d never experienced that.”

Bradley putt for birdie to win the competition, while Fleetwood failed to make par and saw his dreams of winning a maiden event evaporate. Fleetwood is still one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour with over $31 million in prize money, but the loss still hurt.

“I haven’t been in this situation for a while,” Fleetwood said. “I think, you know, when it sort of calms down — I’m upset now, I’m angry — when it calms down, look at the things that I did well, look at the things that I can learn from.

“I said yesterday I haven’t been in this position all year, so it’s been awhile, felt like I did a lot of good things, but there was things that I definitely can do better, and I have to do better. So I did plenty of things well enough this week to win, I didn’t do that, it hurts.

“When it calms down, the most stupid thing to do and the worse thing to do would be make a week like this a hindrance to what you do going forwards. I obviously played great, I put myself in a great position, I was leading the tournament for 71 holes. I just want to make sure that I can put myself in this position as soon as possible again and try and correct what I did this time.”
