Liverpool FC are reportedly preparing an audacious £95 million move for Bournemouth defensive duo Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen, as new head coach Arne Slot looks to bolster his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
After a relatively quiet summer transfer window last year, the Reds are expected to be much more active this time around. According to recent reports, a key recruitment strategy meeting took place last week at Anfield, outlining Slot’s ambitions to strengthen multiple positions, including left-back, centre-back, right-back, striker, and attacking midfield.
Among the top targets is 21-year-old Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez, who has impressed at Bournemouth and is seen as a potential long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who turns 31 this year. Kerkez is reportedly valued at around £45 million.
Partnering him in Liverpool’s plans is 20-year-old Dutch centre-back Dean Huijsen, currently on loan at Bournemouth from Juventus. Huijsen has attracted “significant interest” from Liverpool’s scouting department and has a release clause set at £50 million, which is said to be payable in three instalments.
However, Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit. Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are also monitoring Huijsen closely, with Chelsea reportedly emerging as the “frontrunner” at this stage.
In addition to Kerkez and Huijsen, Liverpool have also been linked with Fulham’s Antonee Robinson as an alternative option at left-back, and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite for central defence—though the latter deal is considered particularly difficult due to Everton’s high valuation and reluctance to sell to a rival.
The Reds are also assessing striker options amid ongoing uncertainty over Darwin Nunez’s future at the club.
If successful, the £95 million double swoop would mark a bold statement from Liverpool, signalling the start of a busy and ambitious transfer window under Arne Slot’s leadership at Anfield.
