Chandler just never seemed to be able to get going as he was restricted to the periphery of all exchanges by the long limbs of Paddy Pimblett – who showed striking proficiency far beyond what he had shown in previous fights as he intelligently quelled Chandler’s forward pressure with leg kicks, jabs and some teep kicks. Chandler was smart to attempt a wrestling exchange early on as that is his strongest attribute but even this was nullified and ultimately used against him due to Paddy’s superior Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – leaving Chandler in compromising positions on several occasions in those three rounds. Pimblett was extremely unlucky not to submit Chandler in the second round following one of these grappling exchanges but started the third where he left off in the second – luring the American onto a flying knee before taking Chandler down and closing the show with repeated ground-and-pound shots that split Michael’s face into salami! .
