Cadillac F1 Team Director Reveals Details of Signed Contract with Sergio Perez!

In a major development for the 2026 Formula 1 season, Cadillac’s F1 team director has confirmed that Sergio Perez has officially signed a contract with the American outfit. The revelation comes amid months of speculation regarding the Mexican driver’s future after losing his Red Bull seat at the end of last year.

Perez Secures a Return to the Grid

After struggling throughout the 2024 season, Perez found himself without a drive for the first time since his F1 debut in 2011. However, in recent weeks, the 35-year-old confirmed he was in talks with multiple teams about a potential return to the grid. Now, Cadillac’s team director has put all speculation to rest.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sergio Perez to our team for the 2026 season,” the Cadillac director stated. “His experience, racecraft, and leadership will be crucial as we establish ourselves in Formula 1. From the beginning, we wanted a driver with a winning mentality, and Sergio fits that profile perfectly.”

A Fresh Start with Cadillac

The Cadillac team, which is set to make its Formula 1 debut in 2026 as part of the Andretti-Cadillac entry, has been actively scouting experienced drivers to lead its maiden campaign. Perez, with 281 Grand Prix starts and multiple race victories to his name, provides the team with a strong foundation.

Perez himself remained tight-lipped about the deal when asked about his future but admitted he had received interest from a “few teams.” Now, it is clear that Cadillac was among them—and that the negotiations have come to fruition.

A Redemption Arc for Perez

After losing his seat at Red Bull, Perez saw his former position quickly change hands, with Liam Lawson initially stepping in before struggling in the opening races of 2025. Yuki Tsunoda has since been promoted to partner Max Verstappen, leaving Perez on the sidelines.

With this new contract, however, Perez has the opportunity to reinvent himself and become the face of Cadillac’s ambitious F1 project. Fans will now eagerly await further details about the team’s preparations and their 2026 challenger.
