Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is once again at the center of transfer speculation, with Saudi Pro League clubs eager to lure the Egyptian forward to the Middle East. However, renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a surprising update on the situation.
No Active Talks with Saudi Clubs
Despite reports suggesting that Saudi clubs are preparing another massive bid for Salah, Romano has clarified that there are no ongoing negotiations at the moment.
“At this stage, there are no advanced or active talks between Mohamed Salah and Saudi clubs,” Romano stated. “The situation remains open, but Salah is currently focused on Liverpool and their season objectives.”
This news will come as a relief to Liverpool fans, who feared that their star forward could be on his way out when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Saudi Interest Remains Strong
Although no formal talks are taking place, Saudi Pro League officials have not given up on signing Salah. Reports indicate that they are prepared to offer the 32-year-old a three-year deal worth over £160 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid players in world football alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Romano suggests that Salah is leaning towards staying in Europe. “Saudi clubs are still interested, but Salah has not made any decision. He knows he has options, but his priority remains Liverpool for now,” he added.
Liverpool Still Hopeful
Liverpool’s management is still working behind the scenes to secure Salah’s long-term future, alongside their efforts to keep Virgil van Dijk at Anfield. With Salah currently leading the Premier League in both goals and assists, his influence remains crucial for the team.
While Saudi clubs may return with another record-breaking bid in the summer, for now, Salah remains focused on finishing the season strong with Liverpool.
