Then: South Africa native Arnold Vosloo played the film’s angry, awakened namesake, the mummy Imhotep. “This Mummy is not your grandfather’s Mummy,” he shared at the time, giving a nod to the original 1930s and 1940s films on which this franchise was based. Like his costars, he came up through theater and television, before scoring parts in the Darkman series, Hard Target and The Mummy.
Now: Following The Mummy, he went on to big parts in Blood Diamond, 24, Ludik and Bones, among other projects. Now 61, he’s currently starring on Plan B.
