Meryl Streep Delivers Stealth Wealth Style at Its Finest with 2 French-Inspired Looks in Cannes

The actress opened the festival with two, all-white looks that were perfect for the French Riviera

Meryl Streep is pulling out all the stops at the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

The Oscar-winner, 74, has already kicked off the star-studded event, which takes place along the French Riviera, with not one but two French-inspired ensembles, and they definitely deserve a spot on your summer mood board. For the opening ceremony photocall, the Only Murders in the Building star stepped out in a crisp white Michael Kors suit with a navy-and-white striped Lilysilk blouse underneath.

She glammed up the look with silver pointed-toe Jimmy Choo pumps, Prada sunglasses and oversized hoop earrings. For a French Riviera twist, the actress added a woven hat by Gigi Burris — perfect for the beachy setting.

Streep was all smiles on the red carpet as she posed for photos and waved to fans.

“How do you say #frenchriviera?” Streeps’ stylist Michaela Erlanger captioned an Instagram post showing off the star’s coastal-chic look.

The actress later changed into a more formal look for the screening of “Le Deuxième Acte” (“The Second Act”) and the opening ceremony red carpet. She looked elegant in a cream-colored floor-length wrap dress with three-quarter length sleeves, white platform sandals, silver earrings and black glasses. Her hair was styled into a simple bun and she carried a small white clutch purse.

“I am immeasurably honored to receive the news of this prestigious award,” Streep said in a statement shared on the festival’s official website. “To win a prize at Cannes, for the international community of artists, has always represented the highest achievement in the art of filmmaking. To stand in the shadow of those who have previously been honored is humbling and thrilling in equal part. I so look forward to coming to France to thank everyone in person this May!”

“We all have something in us of Meryl Streep!” Iris Knobloch, the president of Cannes, and Thierry Frémaux, the director of Cannes, said. “We all have something in us of Kramer vs. Kramer, Sophie’s Choice, Out of Africa, The Bridges of Madison County, The Devil Wears Prada and Mamma Mia! Because she has spanned almost 50 years of cinema and embodied countless masterpieces, Meryl Streep is part of our collective imagination, our shared love of cinema.”
