On Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens shared a touching video on their YouTube channel featuring Patrik Laine and his fiancée, Jordan Leigh. In the video, the couple goes shopping for gifts for underprivileged 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren as part of the “Operation Père Noël” program in Montreal.
Patrik and Jordan were excited to participate in this special event. The video started with the couple sitting in their car and talking to the camera:
“Hey guys, Patty and Jordan here,” Patrik says at the start of the video.”Today, we’re super excited because we’re going to go shopping for Operation Père Noël,” Leigh said.
They had a list of gifts to buy and Laine expressed that he wants to get everything needed for the kids. They started the car and drove towards a supermarket to get the items.
They had a small chit-chat inside the car in which Leigh shared her Christmas plan. This year, the couple is happy to be close to Patrik Laine’s family in Boston.
“Christmas is definitely something that we look forward to. It’s kind of crazy, because Christmas on a hockey schedule can be a little bit nu*s,” Leigh said. “This year we’re really excited because we’re close enough to Boston, to my family, to be able to drive over there. And we’re going to put Boogie in the car. And… go see my family.”
Patrik also shared that he enjoys the process of gift-giving:
“I think for me, giving gifts… that’s… that’s always fun. I’m more of a gift giver. I’m not… I’m not big on receiving them. And then just eat. Eat for three days pretty much.”
They purchased winter coats, mittens, soccer shoes and scooters.
The couple were joking and laughing throughout the video. At one point, they commented that they did not find any “Pattys” in the store. In the end, they were happy with their purchases and checked out.
Patrik Laine bounced back from knee injury scoring 8 goals in 9 games
Patrik Laine has made a strong comeback for the Montreal Canadiens after being traded from the Columbus Blue Jackets in August. He missed the first 24 games of the 2024-25 season due to a knee injury but returned to form after that. Laine scored a hat trick against the Buffalo Sabres, and his fiancée, Jordan Leigh, cheered him on.
Laine has been important in the Canadiens’ 6 wins, contributing 8 goals and 1 assist. However, the Canadians lost the three games in which Laine went scoreless. Over his career, Laine has scored 212 goals and recorded 185 assists in 489 games.
