General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was quick to put Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) on the spot by insisting that he get a 30 percent cut of the diamonds she wants him to move across the black market for her.
Not having the connections she needs to get the job done cleanly — without Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) figuring it out and finding her — she doesn’t really have any weight in this negotiation if she wants Sonny’s help.
That being said, Sonny immediately breached her request to not loop Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) into this. It’s hard to say how he might proceed after hearing what Jason has to say about Holly, but learning whose diamonds they really are could give Sonny some pause.
It could also make him see Holly in a very different light. Maybe she’s not that different from his “type” after all?

Sonny’s dimples were in full effect as he sulked around his office and Holly, entertaining her proposition and feeling her out for just how desperate she was for his help.
He was confident in asserting the cut he wanted because he knows she can’t make any of this happen without him. At the same time, he doesn’t need her.
So he’ll make a call on whether or not he’ll help her purely based on the risk involved and his own interest in branching out into black market diamonds.
His bold statement that Holly’s beauty and charm wouldn’t get her anywhere because she’s not his type didn’t fall flat. Holly wasn’t going to make a mark out of him and he needed her to know it.

That being said, Sonny knows how to play hard ball. Holly didn’t approach him as a female interested in a male. She approached him for a business transaction — one in which she wants him to take all of the risk. So he treated her in kind the way she came.
But that doesn’t mean he didn’t take note of her charms, or that he won’t find working with her to be a pleasure that he doesn’t want to end.
A con artist doesn’t really strike up the kind of loyalty he’s usually looking for in a woman, but Sonny has been known to dance with danger. Furthermore, he rarely works with any woman and doesn’t end up in bed with her.

Of course, Sonny still doesn’t know the real reason that Holly is trying to move these diamonds quickly and get out of dodge.
On the surface, it might look like she wants to sell them before Sidwell can track her down and stop her steal. But she did say it was more personal reasons that have her itching to get out of Port Charles.
When he finds out those personal reasons are because she is Sasha Gilmore Corbin’s (Sofia Mattsson) mother — who abandoned her as a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 and roped her into cons with her — he may not be so fond of engaging with her at all, regardless of whether it’s work or play.
