General Hospital spoilers reveal no one will probably grieve Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death harder than her mother, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Sam and Alexis were far from friends when the young con artist first came to town over two decades ago. Over time, they became serious foes. Sam slept with Alexis’ husband, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst).

Alexis pressured Sam to induce labor early when she was pregnant with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 — who arrived still𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 — in order to save Kristina Corinthos Davis’ (Kate Mansi) life with a stem cell transplant from the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦’s umbilical cord.

General Hospital Spoilers — Recent Events Suggest a Special Bond

These two have certainly seen their share of ups and downs, but they were able to come together as mother and daughter long ago after Sam and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) unearthed the truth that Alexis was the woman who had given Sam up for adoption so many years ago.

While others will be pained by Sam’s death, Sonny shared a bond with her and will have deep compassion for Alexis on the heels of losing her. Will they comfort each other in this time of grief in a way that no one sees coming though?

We can’t forget that Sonny just offered to confess to all of the crimes he’s ever committed to get Alexis off the hook for 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing FBI Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington).

That was a move that Alexis never saw coming, and she was touched by Sonny’s willingness to forsake all he had built and every lucky change he had to get away from persecution over the years to do the right thing and not let her go down for his crime.

Likewise, Sonny was probably appreciative that Alexis never pointed the finger directly at him. Will this mutual respect bring them closer together during their time of grief?

GH Spoilers – Hint Sonny Corinthos Loved Sam Too

Yes, their. Sonny and Sam go way back. Some might find it a bit cringe, but once upon a time before Sam and Alexis were so fond of each other, Sonny and Sam enjoyed one another’s company, too. So much so that they conceived a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.

While 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 Lila McCall was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 sleeping and it crushed these two beyond belief, they were not coupled up at the time of her 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡.

Jason Morgan (Steve Morgan) nursed Sam through her heartbreak while Sonny tried to move on as best he could, already having had a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 with Alexis. Sam will always hold a special place in his heart as the mother of one of his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren

General Hospital Spoilers — Sobriety Matters

Without Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) in her corner, it may be hard for Alexis to refrain from reaching for a drink to cope with the pain of losing Sam.

That has always been the most reliable crutch in her life, though she hasn’t made the wisest choices when it comes to the men she allows into it. That being said, Sonny has recently stabilized himself.

His meds are on track and he’s thinking clearly. So if he does open his arms to Alexis’ company, he won’t be able to say he didn’t know what he was doing. Likewise, a sober Alexis making this decision will be out of character for her, but Alexis has never known the pain of losing a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥.
