F1 Drivers React to FIA’s Latest Announcement: Major Changes Ahead for the End of the Year!

The Formula 1 world is buzzing with reactions after the FIA made its latest announcement regarding the highly anticipated FIA Awards ceremony, set to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, later this year. Despite rising concerns about the Marburg virus outbreak in the country, the FIA has confirmed that preparations are still on track for December’s event, which will mark the organization’s 120th anniversary.

As the situation in Rwanda is being closely monitored, several F1 drivers have expressed their views on the matter. Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, emphasized safety concerns: “The safety of everyone involved should always be the top priority. While it’s an honor to be part of the ceremony, we need to ensure the event doesn’t put anyone at risk.”

Lewis Hamilton, another major star, voiced his support for Africa hosting such a prestigious event but echoed caution: “It’s great to see the FIA expanding the sport globally. Africa deserves a bigger role in F1. But, of course, health comes first. I trust the FIA will make the right call if the situation worsens.”

Meanwhile, Lando Norris highlighted the importance of celebrating the sport’s achievements: “The FIA Awards are a special moment for all of us. It’s where we celebrate the hard work, but right now, we’re all watching the situation in Rwanda closely. Hopefully, everything works out safely.”

The FIA continues to liaise with health authorities and government agencies to ensure the safety of all attendees. With no changes to the plans so far, all eyes will remain on the developments in the months leading up to the ceremony.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation unfolds!
