Colby Covington is under fire on social media after a video of him choking out rapper Lil Pump went viral.
On Saturday, Lil Pump posted a 27-second clip from his upcoming Kick stream, where Covington puts him in a rear nɑƙeɗ choke. As the former UFC interim welterweight champion squeezed, Lil Pump gasped for air before his body went limp.
Users did not let this incident slip as they slammed the controversial fighter for not letting go of the rapper.
‘Colby Covington has – once again – shown himself to be a complete scumbag,’ one fan wrote. ‘Lil Pump (who doesn’t train) tapped multiple times – he is merely looking to create content with Colby and is presumably a guest at his gym.
‘Colby responds by ignoring the tap and risking injury. Prick.’

After Pump went unconscious, members of Covington’s team quickly lifted his feet to generate blood flow to his head. Before the rapper gained consciousness, Covington said ‘Look at his eyes, bro, he’s out’ while standing over Pump.
Another user pointed out how Pump tapped himself instead of Covington before his lights went out. However, it did not help Covington’s case.
‘Looks like pump tapped, then realized he was tapping himself instead of colby? then tapped colby a bunch, but the professional fighter didn’t stop,’ the user wrote. ‘Plus he really had to put THAT much effort into choking someone out who had already tapped live on camera? L.’
‘Honestly pretty f***** up video. @lilpump sorry this happened bro,’ the fan added.
A third user wrote: ‘Good ole f****** Colby Covington! Let’s just keep chokin someone out f****** cold after they tapped 37 times.’
Meanwhile a fourth joked about Covington getting his ‘first finish since 2016.’
Fans slammed the ever-controversial Covington for choking the rapper unconscious
Covington holds a 17-4 MMA record and is ranked fifth in the UFC’s 170lb division
With the clip starting when they were on the mat, it remains unclear if Pump instructed Covington to ignore his taps.
The ever-controversial fighter has not set foot in the Octagon since losing to then-champion Leon Edwards in a disappointing performance in December.
In the buildup to the UFC 296 main event, Covington was slammed for his antics after bringing up Edwards’ late father during a press conference. As a result, the Englishman launched a water bottle toward the American, and a fight nearly broke out on stage.
‘I’m bringing you to seventh layer [of] of hell,’ Covington said, dawning a MAGA hat and Founding Fathers costume. ‘We’ll say ‘what’s up’ to your dad while we’re there.’
