Not so often we find ourselves in a situation where we have to make a decision to help an animal have a better chance in life.

However, when we are, it should be to help. It doesn’t always have to be a lot, but it’s important to try.

This small decision can affect their life in a positive way. It can give them the will to fight and maybe even the opportunity to live a normal life.

In this story, we will witness one such example where a rescuer received a call about a malnourished dog near a highway and had to go and help.

A hungry dog near a highway

After acknowledging the call, the rescuers managed to find the dog and were shocked by the state in which he was.

He was so malnourished that they could see his bones, and his fur almost disappeared. The poor  puppy was so weak that he could not even move. It was very heartbreaking.

There was a small plaque where he stayed, and the shelter kept him from both heat and cold for as long as he stayed there.

Regardless of this, now the rescuers will do their best to give him a new chance. Someone had taken the dog in her arms and put it in a kennel.

She was so emotional by seeing the dog in this state that she cried after realizing how much he had passed by himself.

Then the rescuers took him to the nearest clinic to see if veterinarians could do something to help him. They were completely surprised by his appearance.

They didn’t waste any time. Veterinarians conducted a full examination, revealed that he was infected with scabies and parasites. He was severely malnourished and dehydrated, but they could fix that.

The dog, now named lankris, was put on a strict diet to help him regain weight. He had to eat a lot of small meals during the day.

This will continue until his weight is more or less safe, after which he can proceed to some large meals.

Lancris will make recovery

After the veterinarians confirmed that the dog would recover, they discharged lankris from the clinic, and he was now in the care of his amazing rescuer.

She had taken him to her house and watched carefully as he slowly but well recovered.

His new caregiver also made sure to treat his skin problems so that his fur grows normally.

The days passed, and his rescuer did everything to help him become strong enough to walk again. She even encouraged him to try moving on his own; however, it was still a bit early.

After 10 days, he was now able not only to move, but also to run, and he was taking every opportunity he had to do this.

Although he is still on the road to recovery, he is making amazing progress, and his savior will be there for him every step of the way to make sure this happens.

While we don’t know what will happen next in the story, I have no doubt that lancris is enjoying his new life and taking every opportunity to wander around and explore new environments.
