LeBron James Influences Lakers to Hire New Coach Dedicated to Bronny James’ Development

The Los Angeles Lakers have made a significant coaching move, hiring a new coach specifically to help develop LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, in the G League. After a disappointing playoff exit last season, the Lakers not only replaced head coach Darvin Ham with JJ Redick but also focused on their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, where Bronny is expected to spend much of the season.

According to reports, the Lakers have brought in Zach Guthrie, an experienced assistant coach with a background at the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, and Utah Jazz, to lead their G League team. His primary mission will be to guide Bronny and other young talents through their development in the South Bay Lakers.

While Bronny may eventually debut alongside his father in the NBA, the Lakers’ plan is to have him spend significant time honing his s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s in the G League. This strategy allows the younger James to grow at his own pace, preparing him for a potential historic moment where he could play alongside his father, LeBron James, on the Lakers’ main roster.

LeBron, excited by the possibility, recently shared his anticipation on The Shop: “Having your son work with you is like the greatest thing. I can’t wait for this moment.” The upcoming season promises to be a special one, as both father and son inch closer to making NBA history together.
