Christian Wood is determined to bounce back and make a significant impact for the Los Angeles Lakers
Christian Wood has sent a clear message to Los Angeles Lakers fans as the team prepares for the upcoming NBA season. After recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for part of last season, Wood is eager to make an impact in the 2024-25 campaign.
“I’m back yall ..and I’m coming back next season with a vengeance,” Wood wrote on his Instagram story.
The Lakers have faced criticism from fans for not making significant roster changes around LeBron James, who continues to perform at a high level. Despite the lack of major additions this offseason, Wood is focused on his return and aims to contribute positively to the team.
Wood, who signed a two-year contract with the Lakers, opted in for the upcoming season at $3 million. Last season, he played 50 games, primarily coming off the bench, and averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. His shooting percentages were decent, but he struggled to replicate the success he had with the Dallas Mavericks the previous year.
The Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season, and Wood expressed disappointment over his injury and the team’s early exit. As the new season approaches, he is looking to regain his form and help the Lakers improve.
Loved my first year playing for my Hometown team, I Wish I wasn’t hurt majority of the season, But all in all it was a dream come True for me.. I will be better and 100% healthy next season .
