“You’ll see him if you look…” IFC Films has revealed the official 10th Anniversary re-release trailer for the modern horror classic The Babadook, by Australian filmmaker Jennifer Kent. Here’s the 10th Anniversary trailer (+ poster) for Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook, direct from YouTube:

Six years after the death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her ‘out of control’ 6 year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 them both. When a disturbing storybook called “The Babadook” turns up at their house, he is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, and he becomes more unpredictable & violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son’s behavior, is forced to medicate him. When Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real. The Babadook is written and directed by Australian filmmaker Jennifer Kent, director of the films The Babadook and The Nightingale previously, plus the episode of “The Murmuring” for del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities series. This originally premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, before initially opening in US theaters in November later in 2014 – it earned $964K at the box office. IFC will re-release The Babadook in theaters again starting September 19th, 2024 this fall. Who’s ready to go back?
