Producer Jason Blum has shared insights on the future of The Exorcist series in light of recent developments concerning The Exorcist: Deceiver. This comes after the film was removed from its release schedule following the departure of director David Gordon Green and the less than stellar performance of The Exorcist: Believer. In a conversation with The Direct, Blum affirmed that a new Exorcist movie is definitely in the cards. However, he emphasized the importance of taking time to thoughtfully consider the best way forward for the sequel.
Originally slated for an April 2025 release, The Exorcist: Deceiver’s plans were disrupted when Green stepped down as director due to other commitments. On the same day this announcement was made, it was also decided to withdraw the sequel from the upcoming release calendar, allowing the team to search for a new director and strategize the film’s next moves.
