Experience the chilling true story of the world’s most famous poltergeist case through original audio recordings made inside the house as
the events unfolded.
Apple TV+ is launching a new four-part documentary series called “The Enfield Poltergeist.” It tells the captivating tale of the most famous poltergeist haunting in history.
The series combines over 250 hours of rare audio recordings, a careful recreation of the haunted location, and interviews with the people who were affected by the case. It’s a unique and ambitious story that delves into why humans are so intrigued by unexplained phenomena and how it affects those who experience it.
Back in 1977, there was a spooky haunting of a regular family in Enfield, London, and it made big news in the UK. It had a profound impact on an entire generation of kids. This mysterious case changed our ideas about the supernatural. It showed that spooky things didn’t just happen in old castles and fancy mansions; they could happen to anyone, anywhere. This eerie story inspired fictional versions of the case, like the movie The Conjuring 2, a TV series, and two stage plays.
In “The Enfield Poltergeist” series, you’ll see a recreation of the Enfield events using real recordings made by Maurice Grosse, a paranormal investigator who saved all his interviews with the people affected by the strange occurrences. They even built a replica of the house where these events happened, and actors reenact what you hear on those actual tapes. This allows a mix of voices from the past and interviews with the people who were originally involved in the incident.
“The Enfield Poltergeist” is produced for Apple TV+ by MetFilm and Concordia Studio, the same folks who made Apple’s “STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” which got a lot of Emmy nominations this year. The series is directed by Jerry Rothwell.
The executive producers are Al Morrow, who won a BAFTA, Stewart le Maréchal, who’s also an award winner, Davis Guggenheim, who has an Oscar, Jonathan Silberberg, and Nicole Stott.
