In March 2022, HBO and Warner Bros. revealed plans for a prequel series to the IT franchise titled “Welcome to Derry”. The show will be helmed by executive directors Andy Muschietti and his sister, Barbara Muschietti, both known for their work on the previous films.
“It,” also known as “It Chapter One,” made its mark in 2017 as an American supernatural horror film based on Stephen King’s renowned novel. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the movie follows the terrifying encounters of seven 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren in Derry, Maine, with the infamous being known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. With its chilling storyline and stellar performances, “It” garnered widespread acclaim, becoming one of the best Stephen King adaptations to date.
Following its immense success, “It Chapter Two” hit theaters in 2019, and anticipation for a third installment in 2021 has been building. As fans eagerly await the next chapter, the upcoming prequel series promises to delve deeper into the eerie origins of Derry, offering audiences a fresh perspective on the haunting tale.
