Mirror (UK) claims that Lionel Messi told David Beckham that he wants to sign Ivan Rakitic to play for Barcelona next season.
Inter Miami might want to sign Rakitic this summer. For a big part of Messi’s time at Barcelona, he has played with the Croatian player. The two teams won five La Liga games and one Champions League match during that time.
Messi went up to Beckham and asked him to get Rakitic to join the team.
Rakitic, a 35-year-old player, only has one year left on his deal with Sevilla. The following year, he will be free to find a new team to play for. Sevilla is still interested in Rakitic, but they are more focused on lowering his salary so they can get a new de novo deal.
Many titles were won by Rakitic and Messi together at Barcelona, where they worked together.
It’s likely that Rakitic won’t be the only former Barcelona player to sign with Inter Miami for the next season. It was thought that Luis Suarez would get back together with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba in the past.
We hope that the two names above do join Beckham’s team because it will be a big plus for Inter Miami. His team already has a lot of good players.
“If I had the chance, I’ve always said I’d bring the best players to Miami, and I still stand by that.” No matter what stage of their career they are in. “I have made that promise to our fans,” Beckham was quoted as saying at one point.
