After scoring the first goal for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest, Diogo Jota paid respect to Luis Diaz, a Colombian winger, by holding up Diaz’s jersey as he celebrated his goal.

Following the publication of allegations in his home country of Colombia indicating that his parents had been kidnapped by armed men on motorcycles, Liverpool decided not to include Diaz in their lineup for the game. This decision came as a result.

The response from the club came in the form of an official statement that was released early on Sunday morning. In it, they confirmed that they were aware of the situation and that the player’s wellbeing was their top priority. Shortly before the game began, manager Jurgen Klopp described the situation as “worrying.”

Since then, Diaz’s mother has been located, but his father is still missing, despite the efforts of law enforcement and the military in the country, who are working together to find him and ensure that he is freed in a secure environment.
