Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has a sequel coming up and Superman-Witcher Henry Cavill could possibly get on board the franchise.
In an article from Giant Freakin Robot, the sequel to the $760M grossing Fast and Furious spinoff is in the works. Furthermore, the production in development is looking into getting Henry Cavill in its cast.
Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw starred Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw. The movie pitted the two unlikely characters to become allies. A man of the Law, Hobbs, have to team up with an outcast, Shaw, to take down a cyber-genetic enhanced villain and save humanity. Actor Idris Elba was the main villain Brixton Lore who was defeated at the end of the movie.
Hobbs and Shaw 2 Could Have Henry Cavill On Board
The end of the movie almost strongly promised a continuing story between Hobbs and Shaw. It featured an unknown director who terminated the cyber-genetic enhanced Brixton Lore. If the sequel is picking up where Hobbs & Shaw left off, could Cavill be the director? Or will he be the next main villain?
Hobbs & Shaw can be classified as a buddy movie between Johnson and Statham. The action sequences and banter between the two characters works and they can really take each other on. They even have a running prank competition that can be a recurring comedy point for the story.
A movie with a return of 3.8 times its budget in the worldwide box office definitely ensures a spot for a sequel. Maintaining this momentum will surely require witty writing aside from action-packed scenes. The upcoming sequel has Chris Morgan back for that
Hobbs and Shaw 2 Could Have Henry Cavill On Board
Adding Henry Cavill to the line up of actors will also not hurt the audiences’ interest. Cavill has proven to be a dependable, bankable actor with his recent projects. Even though his role of Superman in DC films of Warner Bros. Discovery is left with some blurry detail, his Netflix projects Witcher and Enola Holmes attest to his fanbase following. Moreover, Cavill can surely hold his own in the action sequence and he can also bring guns to the table as much as Statham and Johnson can.
