RIHANNA’S belly-baring, 𝓈ℯ𝓍y maternity wear has boosted style opportunities for pregnant women across the world.

But a fashion psychologist has claimed that closer to home, the singer’s suggestive outfits contrast widely with those of her “ordinary” partner.

In February, Rihanna, 35, hit headlines when she performed at the Super Bowl in Arizona.

Dressed head to toe in eye-catching red, she showed off her 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 bump to the world. Her team later confirmed she was indeed pregnant.

Through each ensuing trimester, the Grammy-award winner has been spotted out wearing an array of daring outfits.

From May’s Met Gala in New York to the streets of Barbados, Rihanna’s 𝓈ℯ𝓍y dresses and crop tops have not been resigned to her pre-pregnancy wardrobe.

In an exclusive interview, fashion psychologist Professor Carolyn Mair PhD told The U.S. Sun: “Rihanna’s pregnancy style is very daring.

“She is very beautiful and super confident.

“One of the most striking items that she has worn when pregnant is the black 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 doll outfit.

“Some people might wear this outfit to bed, or you would imagine that she would wear this in bed.

“It is very lingerie-type and transparent.

“The bra has a strap over the boobs and the cup of the bra is quite 𝓈ℯ𝓍y.

“As far as her Super Bowl red outfit goes, when people wear this color they are rated as more attractive, 𝓈ℯ𝓍ier, and ready for 𝓈ℯ𝓍.

“If Rihanna did not feel like a 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual being, then she would not wear these 𝓈ℯ𝓍y clothes.”

On a recent date night, the pop icon wore a shimmering green mini dress while out with her partner A$AP Rocky.

By contrast the rapper, also 35, wore a plain grey baggy T-shirt, white ankle socks, and dull black shorts.

Professor Mair said: “What is strange is that her partner does not dress 𝓈ℯ𝓍ily and does not match her 𝓈ℯ𝓍y pregnancy style.

“He could be more 𝓈ℯ𝓍y in his looks, so this is a bit one-sided.

“A$AP Rocky’s style is much less striking.

“This is also quite an important time in Rihanna’s life, but he looks far more casual, relaxed, and ordinary.”

The beauty mogul’s first pregnancy saw her flaunting her bare 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 bump in plenty of daring outfits as well.

Rihanna’s wild maternity style included see-through fabrics and bright colors.

In January 2022, the Grammy-award winner and A$AP Rocky even announced their pregnancy via a showstopping photoshoot in New York.

Here the singer, who had been dating the rapper since 2020, rocked a pair of jeans and a pink coat which she pulled open.

Rihanna bared her new bump in the cold winter weather – and hasn’t stopped since.

After her son RZA was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in May, the billionaire businesswoman wasted no time showing off her post-pregnancy shape and style.

Her second pregnancy announcement came nine months later.

While Rihanna’s personal life began to move at lightning speed, our expert noted her maternity wear has continued to break barriers.

“Rihanna is going through the transparent trend that is everywhere now, even though she is pregnant, ” explained Professor Mair.

“She showed her nɑƙeɗ bump during the previous pregnancy.

“The transparent fabric over the second one makes it more attention-grabbing and teasing.

“This is quite different from showing your nɑƙeɗ bump because the transparent fabric is quite raunchy.

“The Gucci shot with a zip down the front of her trousers and the fur is also quite a 𝓈ℯ𝓍y look.

“Her Met Gala white dress is very low cut and seems rather too small for her at the top.

“The top could have been made low at the sides to show the tattoo and the side of her boobs.

“The side boob showing is also teasing.

“Rather than show the whole breast, it just shows part of it, leaving the rest to the observer’s imagination.

“She is also showing her tattoo at the Met Gala.

“Then comes the silver bandeau outfit with the sparkly bottoms.

“This will attract attention simply because it’s sparkly and it will make the light bounce off it.

“The top is reflective and the splits by her boobs are doing the same as the side boob thing.

“This is more about the bandeau being almost like a sling for her boobs.

“It is pulling her boobs apart there and shows the side boobs.

“This area of skin showing and the cut out would be considered to be very 𝓈ℯ𝓍y.”

The billionaire Fenty founder’s fondness for red is also relevant, said Mair.

As well as wearing red underwear in a Savage X Fenty photoshoot, Rhianna has integrated the color into her makeup along the way.

“Rihanna does a lot of red, like red lipstick, and red nail varnish,” added Professor Mair.

“Not only does this have a psychological impact but it has a biological influence as well.

“Research shows that women wearing red lipstick are likely to get more attention and they are rated as more attractive.

“Not only does red make us seem more attractive to others, but red also makes us feel more attractive ourselves.

“When we feel more attractive, we actually are more attractive because we have this air of confidence.

“Red is the most studied color in psychology in terms of what impact it has on viewers.

“When we see red, it actually increases our heart rate because of its association with blood and danger.

“It actually does something physical to our bodies as well as the psychological impact it has.”

Mair continued: “It was maybe 15 to 20 years ago that people started showing off their bumps with bodycon clothes.

“You rarely saw this before then.

“Then pregnancy style evolved into wearing everyday clothes, rather than maternity clothes, and stretching them over the bump.

“Now we have the transparency trend which Rihanna is doing.

“In fact, the nɑƙeɗ pregnancy celebrity image evolved after Demi Moore’s photoshoot.

“But the transparency trend that Rihanna is adopting adds a new layer of simultaneous reveal and hide.

“She continues to bring a 𝓈ℯ𝓍ier look to it.”
