Margot Robbie is pretty in a pink sheer sequinned Chanel dress as she dazzles on the red carpet at the Golden Globes

She is set to play Barbie in the upcoming Greta Gerwig comedy.

And Margot Robbie opted for a pretty pink gown at the 80th Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Aussie actress, 32, showed off her slender figure in a sheer halterneck sequinned gown by Chanel as she posed on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Margot’s dress featured a lace hem, and extra sparkle came in the form of a diamond broach pinned to the bodice.

The former Neighbours star wore minimal makeup, but did paint her pout with a bold red lipstick.

Meanwhile, her hair was coiffed in loose waves by her longtime stylist Bryce Scarlett, who used products from KMS and tools from Varis to create her look.

To give her hair a healthy boost, Bryce applied the KMS Thermashape Quick Blow Dry Spray to dry locks, before using the Varis Paddle Brush to style it. The KMS Addpower Thickening Spray helped to give a dose of volume, while the Varis Marcel Curling Iron was responsible for the perfect waves that fell around her shoulders.

Margot has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) category for her wild role in the debaucherous film Babylon, in which she plays an unhinged actress striving for fame.

Fellow Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana in The Crown, also opted for a shade of pink for the awards ceremony.

The 32-year-old star teamed her column frock with a dazzling diamond choker necklace and strappy black high heels.

Elizabeth is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series for her incredible performance in The Crown.

Cate Blanchett and Hugh Jackman are just some of the other Aussie A-listers among the Golden Globes nominations.

Baz Lurhmann’s Elvis will also face off with Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film The Fabelmans and Tar, the story of a manipulative conductor, for the top prize of Best Picture (Drama).

Lurhmann has also been nominated in the Best Director category, while Austin Butler, who played the titular role of Elvis, is up for Best Actor (Motion Picture Drama).

Cate is nominated for Best Actress (Motion Picture Drama) for her lead role in Tar, alongside Viola Davis in The Woman King and Ana de Armas for playing Marilyn Monroe in Blonde.

In the film, Cate plays iconic but troubled high-profile composter Lydia Tár, who is days away from recording the symphony that will elevate her career.

When all elements seem to conspire against her, Lydia’s adopted daughter Petra becomes an integral emotional support for her struggling mother.

Meanwhile Hugh has been recognised for his role in The Son in the Best Actor (Motion Picture Drama) category, while Margot is up for Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) for her wild role in the debaucherous film Babylon, in which she plays an unhinged actress striving for fame.

Hugh was among the few stars sharing thanks for their Golden Globes nominations after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees on Monday morning.

The 54-year-old shared a short video to his Instagram account later on Monday thanking the organisation for his nomination.

He was dressed casually in his video with a long-sleeve navy blue polo shirt with a white striped collar as he stood in what looked like a public hallway.

‘Thank you so much to the Golden Globes,’ he began while holding his hand over his chest.

‘This is a great honor,’ he continued, while also saving a word for his fellow nominees.

‘It means a lot to me, especially this year, considering the incredible performances there have been. I really, really appreciate it, thank you so much.’

Hugh stars in The Son as Peter Miller, an overworked father with a demanding career whose son (Zen McGrath) comes to live with him a few years after his divorce from his mother (Laura Dern).

Sydney-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock went for an edgy plunging black embellished dress

But Peter, who now has a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 with his new partner Beth (Vanessa Kirby), struggles to give his son the attention he desperately needs as he deals with serious mental health issues.

If past is precedent, Hugh may have a strong chance of taking home the award, as the film’s co-writer and director, Florian Zeller, previously directed the 2020 drama The Father, which earned its star Anthony Hopkins — who also plays a supporting role in The Son — his second Academy Award.

The Globes have been known as a star-studded, booze-fueled ceremony that kicks off Hollywood’s awards season and helps propel nominees and winners in their quest for Oscars.

But the Globes were tainted after a 2021 Los Angeles Times investigation probed the association’s practices and revealed the organization had no Black members.

Tom Cruise returned his three Golden Globe statues in protest, and longtime broadcaster NBC dropped the 2022 telecast.

The Comcast-owned network agreed to air the Globes again in 2023 after the organization made reforms. The ceremony will take place Jan. 10 and will also stream on Peacock.

It is unclear if the event will attract the parade of A-list stars that it has in the past.
