Manchester City are preparing for the return of their international stars this week ahead of an important return to the Premier League on Saturday.
Prior to the international break, Pep Guardiola’s men slumped to a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in a game that looked more than likely to end in a bore draw. It brought an end to a disappointing week in the top flight which began with a 2-1 loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Those back-to-back league losses add extra significance to the clash this weekend at home to Brighton and Hove Albion. Guardiola will be itching to have all of his players back with him as soon as possible. With this in mind, MEN Sport has put together the City headlines as the international break draws to a close.
Walker opens up on Arsenal bust-up
Walker has confirmed his bust-up with Arsenal staff member Nicolas Jover was instigated because he did not want to shake hands with the coach after City’s defeat at the Emirates – but did vow to apologise.
MEN Sport later learned that, while there were no problems with Jover – a former City coach – following Mikel Arteta to North London, there was disappointment among City players last season when Jover refused to shake their hands after their two league victories over Arsenal.
Rasmus Hojlund says he does not like constant comparisons with City striker Erling Haaland but crowned the Norwegian as the world’s best attacker.
Links have been made between the Manchester United summer signing and Haaland with both being tall, blonde and from Scandinavia, with the pair now plying their trade in the same city. However, the two players boast alternate assets to their game and are at different stages of development.
