An outfit change at the same event isn’t uncommon for an artist like Miley Cyrus. But when the “Wrecking Ball” singer does one, it’s always a statement.
The most recent example of this took place on Monday, May 16, while Cyrus was in New York City for the 2022 NBC Upfronts. The singer showed up in two different dresses that were perfectly in line with the rocker-glam aesthetic she’s been embracing recently..
Giving us the best of both worlds, Cyrus showed us how to do rock star style in both casual and dressy forms. We can envision either look working for a date night, depending on your plans. She appeared at Radio City Music Hall in a formfitting little black waffle-knit dress. Before she left the venue, she switched into a red off-the-shoulder style with matching red metallic strappy heels. The satin dress featured a one-sided cold-shoulder moment with dual high leg slits—mirroring the red dancing emoji in all its glory.
Keeping with the ’80s glam in both looks, Cyrus styled her blonde and black hair into a side part with some pieces blocking her large-framed sunglᴀsses. For hardware, the singer kept it very minimal with a thin diamond tennis necklace and mini gold hoops. Over the red dress, Cyrus added a silver-chained Dior belt that hung around her waist.
Besides Cyrus, the celebrity-swarmed NBC event included Pete Davidson, the cast of Peacock’s Bel Air, Seth Meyers, and various other actors promoting their time onscreen as the network debuted its upcoming calendar of new and continuing series.
The singer closed out the event by performing her song “Wrecking Ball” and Madonna’s hit “Like a Prayer.” Note to all: If you haven’t heard Miley Cyrus perform the late ‘80s megahit before, you’ve truly been missing out.
The former Disney star was in attendance to pitch the return of her end-of-the-year special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus, which was officially given the go-ahead. However, no confirmation on whether or not SNL costar Pete Davidson will be returning to cohost with her. One can dream!
