The Cannes Film Festival might have been in the spotlight this week for its conservative footwear policy, but that hasn’t stopped attendees from stepping onto the red carpet in some pretty daring looks. From sheer figure-hugging dresses to crop tops, many a bold runway trend has been spotted there, with Kendall Jenner leading the way. “Kendall is a natural beauty,” says Calvin Klein Collection women’s creative director Francisco Costa, who created a custom look for the nineteen-year-old model. “The sophisticated cᴀssis color of this dress is gorgeous against her skin.”
It isn’t the first time the pair have collaborated—less than a month ago, Jenner wore an embellished jade-colored Calvin Klein Collection dress to the Met Gala in New York. But last night’s stunner exemplified the transformative power of modern evening quite literally: It went from long to short with a single pull of the tie at her waist. “I love the contrast of the two looks,” says Costa, “and that she was bold enough to go from long and elegant to short and confident.”
