Critics of Lionel Messi’s newly opened restaurant, which bears resemblance to Salt Bae’s restaurant, have voiced their concerns over the restaurant’s exorbitant prices. Customers have expressed disappointment at being charged £18.30 for a plate of macaroni, leading to backlash from football fans. Despite this, Lionel Messi continues to gain popularity, as evidenced by his recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

Messi has opened a new restaurant in the luxurious MiM Hotel in Andorra, where fans can enjoy his signature dishes. The football legend’s ravioli with lobster filling costs £39.20, while his Ballon d’Or chocolate dessert is priced at £30.90. Fans have jokingly suggested that they would only pay these prices if Messi himself were serving them. Spanish influencer Monica Moran recently visited Messi’s Hinchá restaurant and shared a clip of her experience on TikTok, which went viral with 13.8 million views. However, fans were surprised by the restaurant’s high prices and made humorous comments about selling their belongings to afford a meal there. Despite the high prices, Messi’s supporters still flock to his restaurant to enjoy his unique culinary creations.
The famous chef received criticism for persistently asking Argentina’s star player for a selfie on the field after the intense tournament shootout. The Turkish cook, known as Nusret Gökçe on Instagram, was caught on camera grabbing Messi’s shoulder multiple times before he finally agreed to take a picture. This wasn’t the first time they had met, however. A video shows Messi dining with his wife and a friend at Gökçe’s Dubai steakhouse in November 2018, where Messi greeted the chef with a hug and a handshake. After theatrically slicing their steak, Gökçe invited Messi to sprinkle salt over it.
The chef delighted the other patrons by using his knife to feed a slice of meat to Messi, who posed for a photo with him and former Man Utd player Paul Pogba during an evening out. The two football stars were taking a break from their international duties. In another video, Pogba can be heard urging Messi to join him in playing together, leading to rumors of a transfer. Salt Bae’s restaurants are famous for their high prices, with dishes like the Golden Giant Striploin costing £1,350 and the Golden Giant Tomahawk priced at £1,450 at his Knightsbridge location. A Golden Burger is also available for £100 per serving.
