Ronaldo will likely start in Al Nassr’s match on the evening of September 16.
Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could not play in Portugal’s 9-0 victory over Luxembourg on September 12 due to suspension. Therefore, the 38-year-old striker will be physically fit when he returns to the Al Nassr shirt in this weekend’s series of matches.
Recently, Ronaldo posted a photo of him practicing with his teammates with the line: “Happy to be back.” At this time, Ronaldo is in high form in the Al Nassr shirt. After 4 matches played in the Saudi Arabia National Championship in the 2023-2024 season, Ronaldo has scored 6 goals and pocketed 4 assists.
Ronaldo was excited during a recent training session at Al Nassr
Previously in August, Ronaldo and his teammates won the Arab Club Championship Cup. In this tournament, Ronaldo won the title of “Top scorer” with 6 goals. Currently, the Portuguese superstar is aiming for the national championship as well as the AFC Champions League title.
Saleh Al-Mohammadi – former Saudi Arabia player and currently coach of the country’s U23 team – believes that Ronaldo and his teammates at Al Nassr can aim for a dream season.
The 43-year-old former midfielder believes that Al Nassr will take the throne in the 2023-2024 AFC Champions League. Ronaldo will likely make his debut in this tournament when the home team makes an away match against Persepolis Club (Iran) on September 20. Previously, Al Nassr faced Al Raed in round 6 of the National Championship on the evening of September 16.
“I have broken all the records in Europe and now want to set a few records in Al Nassr,” Ronaldo shared earlier this year. Currently, Al Nassr’s record for scoring in a season is held by Hamzah Idris with 38 goals. Ronaldo can aim to break this record when he has scored 12 goals in all competitions even though the 2023-2024 season has just started.
