Football fans are quite excited to see live action as the 2023-24 season of NFL has finally arrived. Other than the league, one more thing that has made fans ecstatic is the return of Hard Knocks. One part of episode 1 which has gone viral is when the host teased Nathaniel Hackett, the new offensive coordinator of the New York Jets.
The HBO And NFL Films series is something fans wait for every season, and its first episode is out. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers made an appearance in the first episode and got huge praise. However, along with Rodgers, Hackett also gained the limelight, for the wrong reasons though.

The clip from the episode that has gone viral shows some of Nathan Hackett’s coaching moments. In between the clips of training sessions and games, Hackett can be seen saying “What is the most important thing in game… communication, communication, communication”. After the video went viral, fans brutally trolled him for his “worst coaching.”
One fan wrote, “Maybe he isn’t the worst coach ever, but he has done the worst coaching ever”. Another one commented, “This was like reliving a nightmare thanks man lol”. Another wrote, “Communication is something Hackett showed he knows nothing about…, “. Another fan wrote, “He is horrible!!! Hopefully being an assistant is a better fit than head coach. Yikes”.
All these comments clearly highlighted that fans didn’t like how Nathaniel Hackett led the Broncos. It’s worth noting that after spending time with the Denver Broncos last year, Hackett is with the Jets now. It’ll be interesting to see if he can prove the trolls wrong by making an effective comeback or not.
Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett share a special bond
Nathaniel Hackett has served three teams in the past and worked as the offensive coordinator for two of them. One of them was the Green Bay Packers of which NFL star Aaron Rodgers was a part. Hackett was with the Packers for three years before joining the Broncos as their head coach. Now, he has finally reunited with Rodgers while serving for the Jets.
According to reports, the star quarterback and Nathaniel Hackett share a close bond. The two are more like buddies, and Rodgers’ admiration for Hackett was quite evident on the Hard Knocks. The NFL star praised the offensive coordinator a lot during the show.
“The more you’re around him, the more you realize how special he is as a human… Our personalities mesh. We’re both competitive, but we both also have the balance. … We just get along like brothers. We have some back and forths,” he said.
Aaron Rodgers accepted that he and Nathaniel Hackett do give each a hard time at times. However, he also mentioned that the two love each other. It’ll be interesting to see where the close friendship between Rodgers and Hackett will take the Jets this season.
