Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan have welcomed a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 daughter into the world.

The 49-year-old actor took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce the new𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧’s arrival and reveal her name.

‘Yep…Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th,’ he wrote. ‘She’s 7 lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan’s traits that have seemingly overwritten my “junk DNA.”‘

The proud father joked: ‘After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project.

‘Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, “Dad! You are embarrassing me… I’m 30, this has gotta stop.”

‘I’ll post pics here + there when I’m not too busy staring…’ he added.

Avri is the couple’s second 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 together and will join two-year-old son Exton.

The Iron Man star also has a 21-year-old son Indio from his previous marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.

The couple, who have been married for nine years, looked more in love than ever when they graced the red carpet at the 2014 BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards last week.

The actor spoke about the pregnancy during his acceptance speech, where he received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.

‘The second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me,’ he teased. ‘Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in.’

‘It’s just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you’re going to get,’ he explained. ‘And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it’s just like: You don’t know anything. It’s great!’

Susan, 40, looked glowing in her floor-length green gown, as she accompanied Robert, 49, to the star-studded event.

The proud father first made the announcement of the pregnancy via a humorous Tweet in July.

‘Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?’ he wrote.

Robert also made an announcement on his Facebook page, revealing the couple were ‘delighted’ by their impending arrival.

‘Um. I don’t know if it’s a ‘man’s world’, but I’m certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦. Girl. November. rdj,’ he wrote.

Robert and Susan met on the set of Gothika in 2003 and he credits his wife with helping him kick his drug and alcohol addiction.

‘The old saying is true — behind every good man there’s an incredible woman,’ he said. ‘I owe a huge amount — if not all — of my success to Susan.

‘We make a great team, and all that luck I spoke about, that’s Susan,’ he once gushed about his other half.
