Chelsea have re-opened talks with Juventus over the sale of Romelu Lukaku in a move that could see Dusan Vlahovic come to Stamford Bridge.
Juventus had been waiting for Paris St Germain to sign Vlahovic to fund an improved bid for Lukaku but the French champions are now targeting Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt and Barcelona‘s Ousmane Dembele.
Juventus have floated the idea of Chelsea buying Vlahovic for a fee plus Lukaku and the Blues are keen on the proposition.
They are willing to fork out between £21.5million and £38.5m on top of the exchange to secure a deal.
However, Vlahovic’s wages have previously been considered a stumbling block as Chelsea look to restructure their wage bill.

There is believed to be no definitive agreement in place on how much Chelsea should pay, with both clubs still negotiating.
Vlahovic scored 10 goals in 27 appearances last season after struggling for form and fitness at points, but the Blues are willing to take a chance on the striker’s fitness with Mauricio Pochettino a huge fan.
Lukaku had initially been linked with a move back to Inter Milan this summer after spending last season on loan at the San Siro where he netted 10 goals in 25 Serie A games.
However, Inter pulled out of the race for the 30-year-old upon hearing he had held talks with Juventus at the same time.
But when recently confronted by an Inter fan, Lukaku expressed doubts over a move to their domestic rivals.
In an interaction captured by a Tiktok user, and reshared on Twitter, an Inter fan implored Lukaku: ‘If you sign for Juve, NEVER say come on Juve.’
The Belgian striker laughed about the request, responding ‘No no never’, before adding: ‘I don’t think the deal will go through.’

Some circles in Inter view the move as a betrayal, with Lukaku on the club’s books permanently between 2019 and 2021 before rejoining on loan for the 2022-23 campaign.
Fellow striker Lautaro Martinez has criticised the attitude of his former Inter team-mate, telling Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘I was disappointed, it’s the truth. I also tried to call him in those days of chaos, he never answered me, the same he did with my other companions.
‘After so many years together, after so many things lived together, I was disappointed. Thankfully, it’s his choice. I wish him the best. But I didn’t expect this attitude.’
Juve hoped to take Lukaku on loan next season but the proposition was swiftly rejected by Chelsea.
The Blues want to rid themselves of him permanently and are willing to let him go for as little as £34.2m – a significant loss on the £97.5m they paid for him back in 2021.
The Belgian forward is currently training alone at Chelsea and wasn’t part of their first team squad for the pre-season tour of the US.
