Man City are reportedly set to swipe one of Manchester United‘s academy prospects in a surprising summer transfer.

Pep Guardiola‘s Treble winners are reinforcing their first-team ranks during the open window, but it appears they are also looking to improve their youth ranks.

Harrison Parker joined United’s fabled academy two years ago from Arsenal, but looks destined for the exit door after Man City registered their interest.

A deal for the 16-year-old is reportedly imminent with the two clubs in the final stages of reaching an agreement, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Parker is held in high regard at United after quickly rising through the club’s ranks and making three appearances for their Under 18s team.

He played an entire 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest’s Under 18s last season, earning a 1-1 draw, while also featuring against Stoke and Blackburn.

Parker will turn 17 in September and it appears City are keen to get a deal sorted before the defender enters the age bracket where he can sign a first professional contract.

The Red Devils previously earmarked Parker for a bright future at the club and demonstrated their trust in his talents by naming him in the squad for an FA Youth Cup match two years ago while aged just 15.

Despite his young age, Parker already towers over most Premier League at over 6ft tall.
