This Is The Jason Storyline General Hospital Fans Wanted, But Didn’t Get. The Jason and Dex storyline that wasn’t.
Jason has been through a lot on General Hospital – everything from brain damage to a stalker to returning from the dead twice. However, there’s one storyline many GH fans wanted to see when he returned in 2024, but the soap fell short.
Who’s Your Daddy?
When Jason had his second resurrection in Port Charles, viewers were the first to learn that the reason behind his latest disappearance was all thanks to Jagger (Adam Harrington). But of course, Jason and Jagger’s history went much further back than Jason’s work for the FBI.
In the ’90s, when Jason still went by the last name Quartermaine and Jagger was played by Antonio Sabàto Jr., the two characters became rival suitors of Karen (). She would up dating Jason, despite Jagger’s insistence that she belonged with him.
When Jason and Jagger reunited in Port Charles in 2024, long after Karen’s death, she became a hot topic between them. At the same time, Dex (Evan Hofer) was falling in love with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and sharing with her the traumatic upbringing he had.
Viewers may remember that when Jason “died” in 2021, it was only a few months later that Sonny (Maurice Benard) met Dex at the gym, and he reminded him so much of his late right-hand man, he hired Dex to replace Jason.
Things were perfectly set up for Dex to learn the truth about his 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 mother being Karen, leaving Jason and Jagger to feud over who the father was. Of course, this idea stopped short when Dex was 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed by Cyrus (Jeff Kober) at the start of the year, and the storyline wound up going to Gio (Giovanni Mazza), who eventually learned his 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 parents were Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
Of course, with the way things have been going in Port Charles, it may not be too late to play out this storyline. Considering Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) just returned from the dead – not to mention presumed daddy himself, Jason – it’s not a far stretch to think there’s a chance Dex is alive after all.
