The casting bombshells continue over at Young and Restless! A week after announcing that Daytime Emmy winners Tamara Braun and Roger Howarth are joining the show, TV Insider broke the news that Days of Our Lives alum Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp) has landed the recast role of Noah Newman. He will begin airing this fall.
Noah’s Arc
Noah, the son of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow), was last seen in the form of Rory Gibson, who held the role from 2021-23. Gibson has since moved to General Hospital, where he plays the role of Michael Corinthos. Prior to Gibson, Noah was portrayed by Robert Adamson (2012-18, 2020), Luke Kleintank (2010-11) and a succession of 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 actors since his on-air 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 in March of 1997.
Joining the cast as Noah actually marks Adams’s second stint on Y&R — the first was a one-day appearance in the bit part of Wesley in 2012. That appearance was actually the Texas-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 actor’s first on-air speaking gig. In 2017, Adams recalled to Soap Opera Digest, “I played a fan of Angelina’s,” played by American Idol alum Diana DeGarmo. “All I could think was, ‘Don’t mess up,’ because we’d have to do it all over again, and I would be wasting everyone’s time.”
Wes is More: During his one-day appearance on Y&R in 2012, Adams’s Wesley got snap happy with Angelina (Diana DeGarmo).
From there, Adams landed guest appearances on shows like School of Rock and True Blood, but was best known for the recurring role of Josh Wilcox on the Disney Channel hit Liv and Maddie. That’s where he met his wife, actress Shelby Wulfert, with whom he tied the knot in 2022.
It was in 2017 that Adams made his DAYS debut in the role of Tripp, the surprise son of Tamara Braun’s character, Ava Vitali, and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). He exited the show in 2019, earning back-to-back Daytime Emmy nominations as Outstanding Younger Actor for his portrayal. He returned to the Salem ranks in 2020 and left again in 2022, but after reprising Tripp on the streaming spinoff Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, he came back to the main show that same year. Tripp last appeared in April 2024, heading off to Hong Kong alongside love interest Wendy (Victoria Grace).
In addition to Braun, Adams’s former DAYS co-star Billy Flynn (Chad) has also recently made his Y&R debut in the role of Cane.
