Kyle got desperate. He popped the question, which made Claire question everything. She wanted to know how he got a ring so fast, and if this proposal was in the making. Kyle admitted that he got the idea after their fight about Audra. Claire turned down Kyle’s proposal, which means the ultimate betrayal could happen on The Young and the Restless.

Grandmotherly Advice

Thankfully, Claire (Hayley Erin) listened to Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) advice about taking things slow. She advised Claire to give Kyle (Michael Mealor) a chance. Nikki knows how messy and complicated relationships can get. But this is Claire’s first true love and first relationship, and she’s not sure how to navigate it. Some part of her wants to pull the plug, but the other part of her still loves Kyle and doesn’t want to give up on him yet.

Just because she loves him doesn’t mean she’ll say “yes” to his proposal. Claire intended to take things slow, while Kyle prematurely proposed. He had hoped this would make up for his lies. However, Claire delayed giving him an answer. This could spell more trouble in their already fractured relationship.

The Ongoing Threat

Audra (Zuleyka Silver) is still a threat to their relationship. The thought of her with Kyle makes Claire sick to her stomach. Claire might be right about not trusting Kyle. She reminded him that she needed time. But time is not on Kyle’s side. He tends to act up when he’s losing control of his life.

Claire’s non-response could send Kyle into Audra’s arms. The two are down and out right now. Nate (Sean Dominic, who is Soap Hub‘s Y&R performer of the month) broke up with Audra after he found out about her deal with Victor (Eric Braeden). He already questioned her faithfulness, and this solidified his doubts. We could see Kyle and Audra nursing their heartache with a night of passion. Then Kyle will be working even harder to win over Claire’s heart.
