Charley Hull has given fans a frank update on her recovery after a bizarre parking-lot accident that forced her to pull out of the PIF London Championship.

The 29-year-old Hull, who previously said Rory McIlroy’s marriage and breakup impacted her own choices, disclosed that what appeared to be a catastrophic injury proved less serious than initially feared, though still significant enough to keep her out of action.

Hull, ranked world No. 10, sustained the injury while heading to practice at Centurion Club.

“I was buzzing yesterday coming out of physio… I booked a four or five-hour practice session… I was really excited all week,” she remembered.

However, medical assessment provided some relief despite the initial alarm.

“I started moving my ankle and it’s nowhere near as bad as I thought,” she revealed.

Hull subsequently gave followers a peek at her recovery process on social media, posting a picture of herself working out in a “moon boot” with the caption: “Training in a moon boot.”

A separate post showed her cradling a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 with the message, “Life lately = family, friends, puppy cuddles and a moon boot.”

Her exit from the PIF London Championship was crushing. Hull expressed: “I’m devastated not to be competing in front of a home crowd,” noting that she stayed at the venue to back the tournament and meet with supporters despite being unable to play.

This incident is the latest in a series of health-related challenges for Hull. In July, she had to pull out of the Evian Championship after collapsing twice during the first round due to an illness.

She was carried off the course on a stretcher, adding another disappointing episode to her season.

Earlier, Hull put on a remarkable show at the AIG Women’s Open, finishing tied-second at Royal Porthcawl.

This result offered a promising peek at her potential major breakthrough, despite ongoing health issues.
